>>1 It is often said that, in studying any foreign language, you can learn the formal and smooth way of talking the language when you hear its female speakers talking,
while you can learn the slangy and rough way of speaking from its male speakers.
For, in general, women are somewhat more likely than men to hesitate to speak in a rough manner even in a casual situation.
However, at least I may judge, that is not true of Japanese. I have often watched lots of Japanese streamers broadcasting on YouTube,
and what I found is that the way of speech of Japanese female streamers is as rough, if not rougher, as that of male ones.
It is not unusual for them to curse and swear loudly when they lose the game.
I can hardly explain how much I was shocked to see a girl streamer with a cute face scream like a kind of beasts and bang a desk with her fist.
I had never seen such things done by my acquainted ladies in Boston before.
What's more surprising is that their behaviour doesn't seem to be regarded as disgusting among Japanese people, because I watched their fans donate a lot of superchats to them.
For my part, if there is around me a girl whose speech is as rough as they, I shall never feel like associating with her though.
